About the Helpline
Since 1988, the citizens of Union County have had free access to a Garden Help Line service staffed by certified Master Gardeners. Based on Rutgers Cooperative Extension recommendations, Help Line volunteers handle a wide variety of plant and pest issues.

Over 1200 calls and on-site visits a year challenge Master Gardeners to identify insects and weeds; diagnose plant diseases; counsel homeowners on lawn maintenance and dispense valuable research-based information on a wide variety of horticultural topics. Soil test kits and tick identification are also available through the Garden Help Line.
